Well, I made it through the 4th of July. We went fishing, only caught a bullhead and a perch. It was fun though. We have to do some work on the motor, something with the carburetors. Took the front cushions off so I can put on new vinal. I will do that today with Amanda's help.
The best thing was getting the boat into the water. I'll back up and tell you that when we got the boat we tinkered on it to fix this and that and make sure everything was okay and ready to go. I said to hubby maybe we should put a new rope on the reel that hooks to the boat cuz it looks realy weathered and old and he said I'll do that when we get to the lake and unload. ya okay. So we got to the lake started to unload. Hubby loosened up the reel, thought he had it locked and then when he started to back into the water I said "It is rolling off of the trailer." He stopped and said "Oh, I forgot to lock the reel." so he started to wind up the rope to pull the boat back onto the trailer. he didn't get it on too far and then said "I'll go back it up farther into the water, the rope should hold." He begins backing up then all the sudden Snap, Bang and I yell "It's unloaded!" He jumped out of the pickup and he's all upset and in shock so I say "Honey, hate to tell you I told you so about that rope, but it's unloaded."
We didn't do any damage to the boat thank goodness. Another one of those building memories days.
Otherwise house cleaning today. In the summer time the inside of the house always suffers. So much to tend to outside, and working full time, that I really don't care if the dust is making layers. Oh and not to mention that I have to save some time to do some quilting.
I did get my two quilts back from Deb Z, my longarm quilter. She did a beautiful job. Just love them!!!! I will take pictures and post them soon. I have to get my binding fabric together and do the binding yet. I always think about every quilt I just finish and think it is the prettiest one I've done yet. I hope that I will always feel that way about every one of them I do.
Housework awaits for me.
Grateful for:
1. My new straw hat
2. New kitchen broom (instead of a junky dollar store like one I had)
3. Having a good friend who has a longarm quilting machine that makes my quilts even more beautiful.
4. Always having trouble trying to pick just only 4 things when I have so many.
